mood Skipping fixtures
Posted by libertytayler on: 23/Jun/2010 12:23 AM
I need a little help figuring out why this robot keeps skipping fixtures.. We have a paint robot that paints numerous parts on a conveyor system. each part has i'ts own spacing to allow for time for the robot to paint it. some may be 6, 7, 8 and so on apart.. 6 in. between spindles. on various parts that get painted, the robot will run 3 parts and skip 1 and be a little out of his window time, but my problem is I can't spped him up because he needs to paint long enough to get enough paint on the part. but on the other hand, I can't increase the paint without it running on the parts before it dries. I'm thinking that the tracking of the conveyor is off by just a little bit, but i don't know how to check that to see what is happening. Any Ideas. I will respond as soon as i can, or when i return home. Thanks in advance. We r not using robot studio, but I will be suggesting it as i learn more about it.

Hi, if the robot is skipping fixtures then it sounds like your conveyor is running too fast, slow it down and then the robot will have the time to do all the parts.
